Let me remind you of the burgerboy.net rules for a bowl game. !. you must be two games over .500 meaning 7-5 minimum. 2. You cannot have a game twice in the same stadium. 3. I will let you know if I deem the game worthy anyways. For example the New Orleans Bowl, fails for the following reasons, 1. It is a bs game. 2. It is played in the Superdome, which means Sugar Bowl. I also am against the BCS Title game, it should be part of the bowl. For Example, Orange, Cotton, Fiesta, Sugar, or Rose.
\nSo right out of the gate there were 13 teams that got bowls with .500 or less records. To them I say you are 18-22, so as one of my favorites liked to say ” You get no medals for trying.” Sorry try harder. Now let’s list out some of the bowls, that do not meet my requirements. Poinsettia ( same stadium) Little Cesar’s( crappy) St. Pete ( crappy), New Orleans ( same stadium) Compass Bowl ( Crappy) Potato Bowl ( this is a maybe, after all it is blue turf.) GO Daddy ( Crappy) Music ( Maybe) Copper Bowl ( Maybe) Bell Helicopter, Meinike, and New Era, ( Crappy) Russell Athletic, which used to be Tangerine, I might give a exemption to for the same site, because it is a old bowl game. Military Bowl and Belk Bowl are gone also, no history, 6-6 Duke, What a sham !!! And the heart of Texas bowl. I know it is played at the historic Cotton Bowl ,but the game has no history, the game features 6-6 Purdue from a bad Big 10 conference this year. Need I say more.
\nLet’s look at some of these questionable schools, not nec. all the 13 that do not meet my rules, but just a larger overview. <\/p>\n
6-6 Minn. vs. 7-5 Texas Tech, with a 4-5 conference record, need I say more on why we should not have the Houston Meinikee Bowl? Texas State, New Mexico, and NW State, were three of their 7 wins. KU was won in OT, and they played a not very good TCU team and won in OT. How in the hell can Tech be a bowl team for anything other than the you are a freaking embarrassment bowl?
\nVa. Tech 6-6 with notable wins of Austin Peay and Bowling Green to get the 6.<\/p>\n
6-6 AF vs. 6-6 Rice, in a fake Bell Helicopter Bowl. Stick to the Academic Decathlon because this has who gives a damn written all over it.<\/p>\n
6-7 Georgia Tech against a up and down, under achieving USC. I like Paul Johnson, do not like Lane Kiffen, and cannot stomach the thought that GT could be 6-8 and the seasons end and have a bowl experience to show for it.<\/p>\n
