With all the success, I expect big things from the team this May. 3 wins in 4 races, is a great feat. Michael has won as a owner with Wheldon in 2005 and Dario in 2007. But this year he is having tremendous success. This is not as much a case of the haves and have nots as in the past. So often big budget teams, which in Indy Car means, Andretti, Penske and Ganassi can afford better equipment, better and more staff, and that translates into tremendous success. Since I attended the Indy 500 with dad in 2005, One of these three teams has won the race every year except 2011. If you go back to 2000, only 2 teams, Rahal-Letterman with Buddy Rice in 2004, being the other. With Ganassi winning in 8, 10. and 2012. My fear for Andretti Autosport is this is a beast of a track. This track as Eddie Cheever once said is about speed. Another thing is its a flat oval for the most part, so you really have to be a wheel man. My other concern is despite a month to prepare, or just about, its a oval, and we have yet to have a oval leading into the race.

All in all I expect a tremendous May, and I expect to see Marco or James H. in the winners circle when it is all said and done. Penske always has something up his sleeve with a veteran team, and the greatest mind around for what needs to be done to get a winning car here, but something appears to be a little off with his team this season. Maybe he is struggling because we have not had a oval, maybe its other things, and maybe, just maybe he was holding back a little and we will see it come pole day. Ganassi has struggled this season period. They have the Honda which has kind of been a lesser engine this season, but in the last couple of weeks, Honda’s seem to be running better. Foyt has figured them out with a upgrade to more modern thinking Larry Foyt has done a good job assuming lots of responsibility. They have a hard charging driver and should make it a interesting race, but with 500 miles a lot of things can go bad. My bet is Honda has figured out the horsepower and glitches from early on and you will see the Ganassi team compete but my money right now is on Andretti Autosport. A win for Marco , could mean a ton of extra publicity for the sport and series. Anyone else gets a blurb in SI, even if Dario or Helio get 4 wins, but a win for Marco gets you the entire cover, and coverage the sport desperately needs.
