Here are some things, that I have learned recently, that are not totally what would normally be in my wild and crazy sports stats, but never the less interesting.
1, Craig Biggio, once went a 162 game season without grounding in a DP. Now we know he was fast for a white guy, but also keep in mind, this is a NL player, so it is not like he could hide behind the DH. This was a guy that accomplished that while playing in the field every day.
2. You think its in the history of Notre Dame, with Win One for the Gipper, but the Play Like a Champion Today sign is only been around since 1986, so about 26 years.
3. Just like people forget Craig James on College Gameday before Herbie, Lee Corso just started to put on the mascot head in the fall of 1996, and over that time frame, has picked about 70 pct. winners. At the point I found this out for example he was 15-0 picking USC. The first head he put on you may ask? It was the Buckeye from Ohio State.
4. 4 Coaches at ND won titles in year 3, Parseghian, Leahy, Devine, Holtz, and now could it be Kelly? I do not think so but still kind of a interesting stat.
