AOY

I have not been on here in ages, and a friend pointed it out. And you know what, she is right. I have things to say, people need to hear them, and so I am back on here and a lot more than I used to be.

First topic of note, as many of you know I have started the last couple of years to take my fishing, very seriously and the results are showing. So today’s topic is Angler of the Year. In 46 years, today will be the end of 47 there has only been 20 winners. That is impressive. Roland Martin leads the pack with 9, followed by KVD with 7. KVD can win more but as of now, I would not bet on more than one more. The reason, is these days he is going after wins, and enjoying himself. When you go after wins, you have to gamble now and again. When you take those chances, if they pay off you get the W, if they do not, you slide down, more than you probably would if you were playing it safe. IE, a golfer has a chance to go for a par 5 in two, with water and sand defending the green, go for it, it may lead to a win, lay up, is the safe play. There are only three 3 time winners after these guys, and of the three, 2 are active, Bill Dance is not, but Mark Davis and Aaron Martens is. If Greg S. wins AOY he will be a 2 time winner along with a handful of guys including Jimmy Houston and Weatherford , Texas’s Gary Klein.
