Well they are finally here and the Burgerboy has you covered. I am going to be brief but here is the facts. The Houston Astros will win, and probably over the Los Angeles Dodgers. I am not sure I would want to be Dave Roberts by the months end because 3 trips with no title will probably spell exit.

Brewers and Nationals start things out with the play in game. I hate watered down playoffs as many of you know. I would much rather see three conference champions, with the best record getting a bye, and 5 game series leading into a 7 game LCS.

I am taking the Brewers in a game I do not give a crap about.

Rays and A’s. I am taking the A’s I have always had a soft spot for the orginization. I think Money Ball was a great book, the first AL game I ever saw was the Rangers and the A’s. Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter and all the guys from the 70’s made for good reading in the early 80’s as I was learning the history even more as a child, and most important I have a couple of Oakland A’s hats and jerseys.

I do not know enough about the present day Cardinals and Braves to make an informed opinion. But my thought process is this, it should be solid baseball.

I like the Dodgers over the Brewers.

I think the Twins are a good story and I am happy for them. This being said the Yankees are back and about to tell America they are back. Good bye Minnesota.

I like the Astros over the A’s

I like the Astros over the Yankees,

I like the Astros making a whole lot of Houstonians very happy. Strong pitching, strong hitting. Nolan Ryan as a consultant, great stadium, tremendous fans, it is just their time. They were built to do what they have done the last couple / three seasons. Verlander is a Beast, Cole is a Beast and oh yeah, Grienke 8-1 in 10 Houston starts. I hate his haircut, but you have to appreciate an 18-5 season considering 10 of those wins four losses were in 23 starts with a average Arizona team. Yes you look at the Diamondbacks 85 wins and will not call them bad, but they also finished with a 5 game win streak. Consider this, their win leader with 13 was also their loss leader with 14. Their second win leader was 12-8 so without pitching the last month plus for them Grienke was still third on their win totals.
