I am against preseason college football polls. The Shaun Boyle system would not allow a poll until after three weeks in to the season. Its total crap and I hate it for the some of the following reasons. The biggest being if you start to far in the back you will never catch up with the computers, coaches poll etc. Here would be a example, the number 13 team in the land, wins on average of say 12 points a game. The number 6 teams wins by a average of say 9 points a game. No matter what the heck happens during the season, the number 13 team will never be able to surpass the other team, without the other team losing. Yet the better team was the 13 all season. How the hell does that make sense? Correct it does not. Its just like the BCS setup that keeps the little guy down. As everyone of my loyal readers knows, I am a plus one guy and not a playoff guy. But these preseason polls need to go. How do we know Alabama is number one this season? Here is a stat my readers need to be aware of, Alabamas last 6 SEC game opponents all are idle the week before they play Bama. That means extra rest, that means extra game planning and that means that big target on their back just got bigger.
