When you follow Deion and his craziness , a few things stand out to me. 1. Does anyone notice that majority of his posts are from his Athen’s Texas ranch and not Boulder and its surrounding area ? Does this bother you ? What do the optics say to you ? When both boys go pro at the end of this season, will he still remain committed to Colorado ?
I know some coaches have vacation homes, but do you get the feeling they are at them for multiple months a year ? I don’t. But with Deion I get the feeling he is treating it like a suitcase college. He started camp today , and plenty of new looks on both sides of the ball. A couple things I’ll be watching out for is how is their depth ? This was a major problem last season. How does the team do with a slower more professional style offense ? They worked their way to this last year, but that was out of necessity.
another thing I’d keep an eye out for , and it is a must is the offensive line. Shedeur is fortunate to not be in a wheel chair after last season.
All this being said, it still comes back to me is Deion there in 2026 and beyond ? And I’m not holding it against him if a big time program comes to him, but I do think I’d be careful about going there the next couple of seasons , until I know he genuinely wants to coach and not just coach his sons. The sports works is full of former players that thought it might be “fun” until they realized it was a serious business. Clyde Drexler, Isiah Thomas, and Mike Singletary all come to mind.
